Health, safety, and wellbeing is at the core of Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve implemented CDC recommended guidelines into our daily operations protocol to keep clients and staff safe, while also ensuring that those who need our vital safety and healing services can still receive them.
Beginning June 15, we will have more of our public office staff return onsite to ensure that all individuals and families in a domestic violence or sexual assault crisis may meet with an advocate and receive immediate services to ensure their safety and mental health stability.
We want our community to know that while we work to ensure those who need crisis support, counseling, court advocacy or emergency shelter that there will be additional health and safety protocols in place.
These additional safety protocols include;
- Checking temperatures of all staff and clients with a no touch thermometer.
- Asking that all who enter the building to wear masks. People may bring their own or we will have some available for use.
- Thoroughly cleaning space occupied by individuals upon their departure in staff offices and the waiting area.
- Cleaning all pens and clip boards after every use.
- The waiting room seating has been scaled down to ensure 6 feet of distance.
- To keep the number of people in the building low, we are asking that support people of the individual seeking services to please remain in their vehicle or outside of the office. We understand some may be in a state of crisis and need their support person. In these cases, exceptions will be made.
- Carefully pre-screening callers and walk-ins on if they or someone they are in close contact with have COVID-19 symptoms. If so, services will still be rendered, but additional safety precautions may be taken.
We will continue to consult with health care professionals, our Board of Directors, and refer to CDC recommendations as we navigate this public health crisis. If you have any questions regarding our center’s COVID-19 protocols, please call our main office at (615) 896-7377.
